Terms of use
Updated 30 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Sasmita Roul (PeopleConnect24) (Satya Vihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751010, India), which runs PeopleConnect24. By using the app you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
About these terms
PeopleConnect24 is a phone, messages and contacts app with caller ID, spam protection, a directory of local businesses, a marketplace for buying and selling, and jobs. We are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000: members post the listings, ads, reviews and messages, and we provide the platform.
These terms, together with the privacy policy, are our rules and user agreement under the IT Rules, 2021.
Who can use the app
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, post, chat or apply for jobs.
- You must be able to make a binding contract under Indian law.
- You may not use the app if we have suspended or removed your account before.
Your account
- You sign in by verifying your SIM. One account belongs to one person and one mobile number.
- Give your real name and true details. Do not pretend to be someone else or a business you do not own.
- Keep your phone and account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app, or as explained on the delete your account page.
Calls, messages and caller ID
- Your calls, SMS, contacts and call history are handled on your phone. Normal charges from your mobile operator apply.
- Caller ID and spam answers: names and spam labels come from members and businesses, and can be wrong. Report or name a number only when you honestly believe it. Do not use false reports to harm a person or business.
- Spam protection helps, but it cannot stop every unwanted call or message, and it may sometimes stop a wanted one. Check Filtered and the review list.
- For fraud, report to the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in, and suspected fraud calls or messages on Chakshu (sancharsaathi.gov.in).
What you post
You are responsible for everything you post: your profile, business listings, ads, photos, job posts, CVs, reviews, chats, caller names and spam answers. It must be true, lawful and yours to share.
You keep ownership of it. You allow us to store, show, resize and share it inside the app and on our website, only to run the service. This permission ends when you delete it or your account, except where the law requires us to keep it.
What is not allowed
As required by Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021, you must not post, share or send anything that:
- belongs to another person and you have no right to it;
- is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invades another person’s privacy (including bodily privacy), insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, is racially or ethnically objectionable, relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes enmity between groups on the grounds of religion or caste with intent to incite violence;
- is harmful to children;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives or misleads about where a message came from, or knowingly shares false or misleading information;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries or public order, incites any offence, prevents the investigation of any offence, or insults another nation;
- contains a virus or any code meant to interrupt, damage or limit any computer resource;
- is an online game that is not permitted under Indian law, or advertises one;
- breaks any law in force in India.
Also not allowed: spam, bulk or automated messages, scraping the directory, harassment, threats, hate speech, and fake reviews or reports.
Marketplace
- Ads are checked before they go live. Show the real item, its true condition and a fair price, with your own photos.
- You must not advertise: arms, ammunition or explosives, including firecrackers; drugs, narcotics or psychotropic substances; medicines that need a prescription; alcohol or tobacco; wild animals, birds or their parts, or any protected species; human organs, blood or body parts; stolen goods; fake or copied branded goods; government IDs, documents, SIM cards or bank accounts; currency, lottery or gambling; sex-determination kits; adult content or services; or anything else illegal to sell in India.
- The sale is between the buyer and the seller. We do not take part in it, and we do not handle payment, delivery, warranty or returns. Meet in a public place, see the item before paying, and never pay in advance to a stranger.
- Your phone number is shared with a buyer only when you agree to their request.
Jobs
- Only a verified business can post jobs, under its verified name. A member hiring for their own home (cook, driver, domestic help or tutor) may post one household job at a time.
- Post only real jobs, with the true employer, salary and place of work. Every job ad is checked before it goes live.
- Never ask job seekers for money, a deposit, a fee for registration, training, a kit or a uniform, or for Aadhaar, PAN, bank or card details or an OTP. Never ask them to move to another app.
- Employers see a job seeker’s phone number only when the job seeker agrees to share it.
- Verified employers may find job seekers who choose “All employers”, view their profiles and invite them to a live job, within daily limits. Each view and invite is recorded and shown to the job seeker.
- Do not treat applicants unfairly because of religion, caste, race, sex, place of birth or disability.
- Use applicants’ CVs and details only for that job. Do not share or sell them.
- Jobs abroad need a recruiting agent registered under the Emigration Act, 1983, and its registration number in the ad. Do not post them otherwise.
- Reports from job seekers and messages that ask for money or documents can pause an employer at once. We may then ban the account and the business, and block its phone numbers, devices and registration numbers from coming back.
- Never pay to get a job. Report fraud to the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.
Businesses and reviews
- List only a business you own or are allowed to represent, with true services, hours, areas and contact details.
- The verified tick means we checked the documents the owner gave us. It is not a guarantee of the work or the price.
- Reviews must be about your own experience. Owners must not review their own business or pay for reviews.
- Work you hire is agreed between you and the business. Check their details, and agree the price before work starts.
Paid features
- Businesses can pay for an enquiry plan or a featured listing. Ad posters can ask for Featured or Boost for an ad.
- The price, period and what you get are shown before you pay. Nothing is charged without your consent.
- Paid placements: featured listings and Featured ads are shown first in the matching results for their area or category, with a “Featured” label. Boost moves an ad back to the top of the newest ads once a day. A paid placement is never shown in a search it does not match.
- Payment is made outside the app. We switch the feature on when the payment is received, and give a receipt with an invoice number.
- Refunds, full or part, are decided case by case. Write to us with the invoice number.
Reports, removal and suspension
- You can report an ad, a review, a business, a member or a phone number from the app, and block numbers. We review reports and act on them.
- We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the law.
- We remove or disable unlawful content within 36 hours of an order from a court or an authorised government agency, as the law requires.
- Content showing a person’s private areas, nudity, a sexual act or a morphed image of a person is removed within 24 hours of a complaint.
- We keep information about removed content and closed accounts for 180 days, or longer if a court or authority asks, for investigation.
- We will tell you when we act on your content or account, unless the law or an investigation stops us.

For a complaint about content, an account or these terms, write to our Grievance Officer:
